What are ultra fine materials?
Ultra fine materials have significant and immediate market potential.
These materials can be loosely classified as materials between 100 nanometers
and 1000 nanometers (1.0 microns). Many industrial applications
presently use materials with grain sizes in the 10's of microns.
There are numerous advantages in moving to smaller particle sizes, especially
when coupled with tight particle size distributions. Many benefits
exist, in particular these materials can be expected to increase performance,
extend the field of use, enable miniaturization and in many cases enable
cost savings. Ultra-fine materials can be produced in multiple metric
tons and to very strict tolerances. These materials and their dispersions
can be integrated into pre-existing systems with little capitol expenditure
while enabling significant improvements in product performance and fitness
for use.
What we can do for you.
MPS has extensive experience in this field. Our internal expertise
combined with our network of industrial contacts, enables MPS to implement
a full range of solutions. We supply and have core competency in:
- Turn key systems for material production
in the size range of 150 nanometer to 1000 nanometer. These
systems are available from bench-top to systems capable of
producing multiple metric tons.
- Formulations development, from slips to
dielectrics.
- Technology transfer and integration
assistance.
- Production trouble shooting and due
diligence.
- Integration of on-line monitoring
systems.
- Sintering systems and furnacing.
